A Few New Dishes at Todd English Food Hall

smoked salmon flatbread pizza

LAST NIGHT I met up with a couple of friends for a 'girls' night out at Todd English Food Hall (formerly known as The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English) where we got to sample one of their newest flatbread pizzas, the smoked salmon. But first, (as always) our evening began with a bottle of crisp Valdo prosecco!

lobster guacamole

Soon after placing the order for bubbly, a dish of lobster guacamole arrived at our table--on the house! I usually don't care for guacamole, but this one, I simply could not resist! The three of us happily munched on the chips and dip while we waited for the smoked salmon flatbread we'd ordered 'to start.' My friend (and fellow blogger), Vivian, has "a thing" against eggs so we ordered our salmon flatbread sans its chopped egg. Nonetheless, the flatbread pizza was met with unanimous approval, topped with slices of smoked salmon, crispy fried capers, dill Havarti cheesecrème fraîche and shaved scallion. Hands down, Todd English certainly makes some of the best "restaurant pizzas" this city has seen...

lobster hush-puppies

Vanessa, Vivian and I followed our flatbread with the classic "TE" sliders with parmesan-dusted French fries... and later, an order of lobster hush-puppies and risotto "tater tots" with fontina and a black truffle aioli. (the latter is--perhaps--my favorite Valdo pairing at the Food Hall) Finally satiated, the three of us decided to call it a night at the Food Hall. Next time, I'll try to save some room for a salad--at least!

Thanks Pat! I love the mention about the salmon pizza. Hands down that was the best dish (so was the lobster hushpuppies).

Yes--I am going back to try the pizza with the chopped egg topping (; And the hush-puppies were good too... but next time I'll let the risotto-tots cool down first!
